A Family Bayou Tradition Since the Early 1900s

“Come Eat Like You're at the Camp”

Fresh Gulf seafood, rooted in the resilience and heritage of Cajun culture, brought to North Richland Hills and the heart of Dallas-Fort Worth.

Our Story

Tied to the Tides

A family in the business for over 100 years — our roots run deep in the waters of South Louisiana.

Early 1900s

A Family Business for Over 100 Years

Our roots run deep in the waters of South Louisiana. We got our start serving the fishing boats, providing everything they needed to keep working the Gulf. When the shrimp boats came in, we unloaded their catch and dried the shrimp for shipment across the globe — back when barrels and salt were the only tools we had.

The 1950s

From the Bayou to Buquet Canning Co.

By the 1950s, as technology improved, our family began canning shrimp and oysters, eventually growing into the one of the largest oyster and shrimp canning facilities in the United States. From drying shrimp by hand or foot, to running Buquet Canning Company, our name has long been tied to the tides.

Today

The Tradition Continues

Today, that tradition continues at our unloading dock in Dulac, Louisiana — where we package fresh, frozen shrimp for shipment all over the country. It's the same seafood, caught by the same families, and prepared with the same pride.

Not Just a Name

Why "Cocodrie"?

Named after the legendary fishing village just down the bayou from our dock in Dulac, LA — the last spot of civilization before the Gulf, midway between the bays and marshes. Cocodrie — meaning “alligator” in French — is where folks go to unwind. A place of camps, crawfish boils, fishing trips, and weekends filled with laughter, cold drinks, and big meals with friends.

Our menu brings that same spirit to the table — Gulf seafood served fresh and done right, with recipes passed down through generations and dishes inspired by the bayou itself.

Whether you're a local or just passing through, you're family here.
